MOVE Texas

UNT Chapter | Social Media Manager

I contributed social media content for MOVE Texas' UNT Chapter, a grassroots organization committed to building the political power of young people in underrepresented communities.

Though my time was limited to one semester, my focus was clear: craft every post to reflect MOVE’s bold, justice-driven mission and empower young Texans to engage with democracy on their terms.

Campus Charter Social Media Procedures

During my time as social media manager, I followed MOVE’s official Campus Chapter Social Media Procedures

  • Used peer-led, nonpartisan language that energized rather than lectured.

  • Stayed within approved issue areas and reposted only from verified partner orgs like Texas Freedom Network and Jolt.

Messaging and Tone

MOVE’s voice is unapologetically youth-centered, urgent, and inclusive. I made sure my copy:

  • Spoke with students, not at them

  • Used clear, accessible call to actions

  • Balanced urgency with hope

Visual Consistency

  • Created all posts in Canva using MOVE’s provided templates and color palettes.

  • Followed rules for readability: dark font colors, large font size, outlined text, and high contrast.

  • Limited color palettes and used MOVE’s official doodle/sticker assets to reinforce brand identity.

Strategic Content

  • Voter registration deadline reminders

  • Early voting Call-to-Action

  • Educational breakdowns of ID laws
