SWOOP Open House
SWOOP is a student-run advertising agency that partners with real-world clients to develop fully integrated marketing communications plans, giving students hands-on experience in strategy, research, and execution.
The Ask: SWOOP must attract new talent and evolve with each semester’s insights.
Problem: The application pool was shrinking, and SWOOP’s reputation had declined after failing to evolve with each semester’s insights.
Insight: Many majors are able to apply to SWOOP and their skills would be useful to the agency, by repositioning SWOOP as a collaborative, cross-disciplinary space, we could expand our reach and reignite excitement for the agency.
Execution:
Our team designed and executed an awareness and repositioning campaign to attract ambitious students from different majors to apply to SWOOP.
AWAREness
We created curated posters a with the message that creativity isn’t limited to one major encouraging students to attend the Open House.
These visuals were placed strategically in areas where Graphic Design, Business, Marketing and Advertising students frequent.

We handed out mini flyers that had the poster on the front and on the back a personalized message to a specific major. These flyers were handed out in high-traffic areas like the Business Leadership Building, where we engaged directly with students to spark conversation and interest.

SOCIAL MEDIA
We expanded and actively engaged on SWOOP’s social media, which had been underutilized. We created posts that repositioned SWOOP into a newly revamped, knowledgeable, and professional student agency—an experience students wouldn’t want to miss out on.

OPEN HOUSE DAY
To capture attention and elevate the experience, we introduced a Hollywood Red Carpet theme, turning the event into a spotlight moment that celebrates student creativity, collaboration, and talent.

RESULTS
Our efforts yielded a 40% increase in open house event attendance and a 75% increase in SWOOP applicant enrollment.
